Airclima has more than 25 years of experience at home and abroad in the design, construction and maintenance of refrigeration systems in a wide variety of sectors.

Our history & vision

Carlo Cuvelie (’62) co-founded Airclima in 1998. From an early age he dreamed of having his own business. ‘What used to appeal to me – and still does – is the overall picture: outlining the vision, translating it into a strategy and finally implementing it successfully remains the big challenge every time. As an entrepreneur, I find it fascinating to work with people, both colleagues and customers.’

In 2013, Michel Cuvelie (’79) became co-manager. At the time, he had already been working in his uncle’s business for some time. With his background as an industrial engineer, he immediately felt strongly attracted to the technical aspect within Airclima. ‘I find it important and get a lot of satisfaction from working with a driven team of specialists, where the focus is on quality and customer satisfaction.’

Matthias Cuvelie (’93), son of Carlo, will make his entry in 2022. With a background as a commercial engineer and an innate entrepreneurship, the second generation brings a new impetus. This ensures Airclima’s future as a family business for the next 30 years.

Matthias and Michel want Airclima to continue to grow healthily, but also attach great importance to the family and even friendly character of Airclima.

“We are actually matched up like a soccer team,” says Michel, “but we don’t have any reserve players. At Airclima, there is no one on the bench.”

“And what makes me very proud,” Carlo adds, “is the fact that we are introduced by our customers as their partner. We also really don’t feel like a supplier because of the long and intensive preliminary process we go through together.”
